"Arctic Skua - badass of the Tundra" -
- a dutch expedition member

This quote is easy to understand, when you observe their foraging behavior as one of the top-predators in the Arctic Tundra.
Arctic Skuas tire out preferably waders and terns, to force them dropping our pouring out their food. If they can catch the whole bird, like a Temminck´s stint, they are also opportunistic and eat the bird itself. For this challenge they perform spectacular flight maneuvers, what is possible with they powerful and slim body build. They are also searching for nests of any bird in the Tundra to eat the eggs, they even eat geese eggs.
